Acquisition
In March 2007, Generic Health entered into an agreement to acquire (and took effective control of) Australian Pharmaceutical company Bellwether Pharma Limited. The acquisition of Bellwether provides a strong National Sales Team, comprising a solid and well respected National Sales Manager in the industry, plus twelve motivated Sales Representatives. Through the acquisition, Generic Health not only acquired an extensive range of products, but also the invaluable distribution network, brand and history.
Generic Health will takeover all facets of the company and will continue to supply the Bellwether products. Bellwether will take on the new name ‘Generic Health’s Bellwether'.
In May 2008, Generic Health acquired Max Pharma, providing an established channel into the hospital pharmaceutical market as well as giving Generic Health access to an active pipeline which expedites the launch of more molecules to the market as quickly as possible. Generic Health and Max Pharma share a common commitment to supply quality products at the best possible price. Their combined core competencies are in using industry knowledge and experience to source niche generic products for supply to hospitals and pharmacies.
Generic Health will continue to trade under the Max Pharma entity and retain its commitment to source and supply quality products which fill an unmet need in the marketplace, including sole supplier products.
This acquisition accelerates Generic Health’s expansion plans to become a significant player in the Australian generics pharmaceutical industry.
