Managing Director

Gavin Upiter is the Managing Director of Generic Health. He founded the company in 2004 with a vision to revolutionise the generic drugs market in Australia. Generic Health was the pioneer in offering unbundled generics and transparent pricing to the pharmaceutical industry. Under Gavin's leadership, the company has grown from a groundbreaking idea into the fastest growing business in the generics market.

Prior to launching Generic Health, Gavin, a veteran in the pharmaceutical industry, spent over 11 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb. During his time there , Gavin was responsible for all manufacturing activities fro products which accounted for over AU$500 million in sales across 30 countries. Gavin was on of two individuals in Australia nominated as the representative for the pharmaceutical manufacturing licence held by Bristol-Myers Squibb Australia. As such, the founder was accountable fro ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and regulatory standards across the company.

Gavin is a qualified engineer ad holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical) from The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

DR ELIZABETH WONG PhD
Operations Manager

Elizabeth has over twenty years experience in the pharmaceutical industry having spent fifteen years with CSL Ltd (Australia’s largest vaccines and blood products company). After leaving CSL, Elizabeth joined Vitapharm Research Pty Ltd where she was responsible for the commercialization of technology involving biological pharmaceuticals. During her time in the pharmaceutical industry, Elizabeth has gained broad cross functional experience covering product registration, quality control and assurance, technology development and commercialization.

Elizabeth obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the university of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France and has since gained international business experience in the UK and in China. Elizabeth is also fluent in both written and spoken Chinese.

MS HILARY HAHN
Head of Sales & Marketing

Hilary Hahn joined Generic Health in April 2009 to head up the Sales and Marketing function.

Hilary has worked in various electronic and print media sales and marketing positions in companies such as Kodak, Mayne Health, Symbion and Sigma. Largely focused on retail pharmacy, her refined skills in Sales & Marketing quickly propelled Hilary to positions of strategic leadership.

Over her 30 years of experience, Hilary has gained invaluable pharmaceutical industry knowledge and the ability to effectively implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives, whilst providing strong guidance, leadership and management for her team.

Hilary holds a Business Communications degree.
